kylie minogue - returns

the queen of disco returned to stage late last year to fulfilled the wish of her fans to see her again live on stage. although going through tough time battling with breast cancer, this petite lady never give up on her career and especially on her fan. now, with full gear, she most likely to release her new album end of the year due to her tight schedule on concert and resting between before returning to studio for recording.

to not disappoint her fans, recently kylie preview her upcoming (rumored) new single during sydney 'showgirl' tour and the hq of the songs leaked on the net. this song recorded live because it is included in the just released showgirl - homecoming live audio cd. i bet the studio version will sound better so as the music arrangement.

the title of the song is white diamond and co-written and produced by scissors sisters. i begin to like the songs. it is a fresh sound from kylie.

mysticam

i've been wanted to blog about this lady for so god long. she is one of the best local artiste that i like although i kinda admit that she is a 'veteran' in the country music country. after gone missing in releasing album, camelia returns with an album that has edgy club sound. it is fresh sound for local music scene (although notable deanna yusoff's self debut dance album 'fix' was released gazillion years ago, but gotten a luke warm response, yes i have that album) as the scene has been monopolized by the sappy love songs. to hear something edgy sound like this make you feel nice and tapping your feet all the way without you realizing that player repeating the cd again. it is good to know that there's local artiste out there willing to take a risk in their music career.

read more about this album here.

once the internet connections back as usual, i'll upload some of her songs. local peeps can buy her album at your nearest music store.

When Timberlake brought sexy back to music, Grammy love came with

The Dixie Chicks survived the controversy that followed singer
Natalie Maines' criticism of President Bush in 2003, crowning their
comeback year with a number of nominations, including album of the year
for "Taking the Long Way" and record of the year for the single "Not
Ready to Make Nice."

James Blunt, who was on hand at the announcement ceremony, capped
his stellar year with numerous nods, including best new artist, plus
record of the year and song of the year for his ubiquitous hit, "You're
Beautiful."

Corinne Bailey Rae, another presenter at the ceremony, matched that.
Besides best new artist, she earned song of the year and record of the

Christina Aguilera - Back to Basics

When the buzz that Christina Aguilera will be releasing an album with a tribute to jazz era, a lot of speculations on how she will blend this whole piece together. Is she going to make this album jazzy/swing style or she going to mixed it up with hip-hop/pop and make it into a new sound? The answer lies in double disc of 'Back to Basics' album, Christina third album to date. For this album, Christina portray a grown-up look and stash away her crotchless leather and mulitcolor hair extensions.

(taken from nzherald.co.nz)
DJ Premier produces disc one and infuses it with sophisticated hip-hop cred through horns, crackling vinyl and old soul samples, a combination best summed up on the addiciting sound of Ain't No Other Man. Understand is another astounding example of her gymnastic voice suiting Premier's vintage beats.

The second disc, produced by songwriter to the stars Linda Perry using only analogue equipment, revisits burlesque, faux 1940s jazz and Hollywood kitsch. It succeeds when Aguilera invests her emotions without sounding overwrought - Mercy On Me , for example, is a great soul song.

Personally, to me this album is something different from the 2 previous album. In this third album, Christina singing maturely as she make her way to through track by track. As you keep playing the album, you found that you drawn by her voice and amazes how it blend with the music and the sound itself, but that is Christina. Her passion for music is something that no one can question.

Although this album is her tribute to 'jazz-makers' to 'ground breakers' such as John Coltrane to Nina Warren, Christina's favourite theme resurface again in this album; about her personal album, to which it will be something her fans can relate to her and their life. Song such 'Without You', 'Hurt', 'Mercy on Me', 'Save Me From Myself', and the song that penned specially for her newly wed hubby, 'The Right Man' will hit the sappy fans like me.

Still, it's fun to hear she coming back as truly singer with new sound and new look.

Here some of her photos taken for the album:

Conjure One

The first time i heard about Conjure One is when I heard 'Center of The Sun' during one of the Body Balance class. It capture my emotion in instant with melanholic voice of Poe and its mucic. I managed to dig about Conjure One and below info is taken from www.myspace.com/conjureone
I officially own 2 of their album; 'Conjure One' and 'Extraordinary Ways'. Both are excellent album.
Over the last two decades, only a few artists have had as much impact on modern forms of music as Rhys Fulber. Best known from his work in the pioneering industrial rock outfit Front Line Assembly, Fulber has also made a significant mark in the world of electronic dance and pop music with Delerium, his own project Conjure One, and has also become a respected in the music industry producer.
Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Fulber's appreciation of music began at an early age. By the age of six, Fulber was playing the drums, and at age eleven, was already visiting recording studios and discovering punk rock and new wave artists (namely DOA, Buzzcocks and Pete Shelley's 1981 release, Homosapien.) Fulber was still only a teenager when he met another local like-minded musician, Austrian Bill Leeb. who initially worked under the alias of Wilhelm Schroeder on the 1984 Skinny Puppy EP, Remission, before launching groundbreaking industrial / rock outfit, Front Line Assembly. The group went on to issue countless releases on a steady basis - including such standouts as 1991's Caustic Grip, 1992's Tactical Neural Implant, and 1994's Millennium, among others). Growing weary of the confines of the genre, Fulber departed Front Line Assembly in 1996 to concentrate on several other projects and record producing.
Despite leaving Front Line Assembly, Fulber and Leeb continued to collaborate on what became a more famous project; an ambient pop side project called Delerium. The act shot to the top of the charts thanks to their 1999 global hit, Silence," which featured vocals by Sarah McLachlan. As one half of Delerium, Rhys is no stranger to hit records, and as Conjure One (his current solo project) he has already scored a no.1 UK Club Chart placing with a package that contained remix treatments of the songs Sleep and Tears From The Moon (both included on the self- titled debut CD Conjure One). Centre Of The Sun also gained a Top 3 U.K. Club Chart placing.
Conjure Ones follow-up release Extraordinary Ways is set for release on August 30 (Nettwerk America), and for the first time in his career, sees Fulber on vocal duties, delivering a unique modern take on the oft-neglected Buzzcocks classic I Believe. As in the past, he also calls on the talents of female vocalists, including Jane (Endless Dream, One Word and Extraordinary Way), Chemda (Forever Lost), Tiff Lacey (Face The Music) and Joanna Stevens (Dying Light).
In addition to his solo work as Conjure One and long-established songwriting partnership with Bill Leeb in Delerium and Front Line Assembly, the multi-talented Fulber has also been a producer-in-demand for several years. His list of credits ranges from metal outfits Fear Factory (supplying production, programming, keyboards, and arrangements to such popular albums as 1995's Demanufacture and 1998's Obsolete, among others) Megadeth, Mudvayne and Paradise Lost to AOR pop acts Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban.
Below is the anime 'Metropolis' with 'Center of the Sun' song. I love this anime and the song!

Madonna - Chill Out

A few years ago, I pray that Madonna one day will release "Chill Out" album. However, it never happen. So I did my own compilation on all her down tempo track. However, a few nights ago, as my downloading and searching ritual for torrent begins, I found this album and i was overjoyed and its feel like god has answered my prayer. I dig out about this album and apparently this album was done in 2004 and that was after "American Life". And the people behind this album is unknown and altho the label of the album is under Maverick (Madonna's Record Label).
In this album, 12 of the track has been given a new breath of life without ignoring the original songs. It was not craftfully done to my opinion, but it something that nice to listen to altho some track could be worth ignoring for. This album also contained a song that was released along previously with the singles. Among all tracks, my favourite is "Frozen (Band Forgotten Mix)".
Worth Listening to:
1. Frozen (Band Forgotten Mix)
2. Love Profusion (Chill Out Mix)
3. Ray of Light (Dreamy Soul Mix)
4. Wonderland (Samuel Enchantment Mix)
5. Sanctuary (Maniac's Sacred Mix)
6. If You Forget Me
7. Paradise (Not For Me) (Morning Spell Mix)
Worth To Ignore:
1. Secret (DiFrankz' 2003 Confidential Chill Out Mix)
2. Beautiful Stranger (Harington's Organ-a-pella)
3. The Power of Goodbye (Dens54 Vascoteel Remix)
4. Love Medley

Pink - I'm Not Dead

Pink has never been on my must-listen-to-album after her second album. However, I managed to convinced myself and give it a shot to listen to her "I'm Not Dead" album (finally). As am writing, am pre-listened to all the tracks. As it goes along, i begin to like her style in this album. It completely different any album that she came out with. Brilliant idea to put herself back in the main stream.
The album's first single, "Stupid Girls," is a great dig at the silly behavior of the tabloid-crazed starlets in Hollywood; though on the surface it seems like a great dis song, at its core it's really an ode to female empowerment and smashing stereotypes. However, I'm personally don't quite agree as this for the first single. It should have been "Ur & Ur Hand" released as first single. It more PINK to me. Edgy, pop rock, raw and catchy tunes.
There is a few slow track in this album. "Nobody Knows" and "Dear Mr. President" is worth listen to. The latter song is one of the most poignant and touching song, which Pink performed with Indigo Girls in fully acoustic style. Just backing up with acoustic guitar, Pink rails against President Bush, attacking him on everything from No Child Left Behind to gay rights as she asks, "How do you sleep when the rest of us cry? How do you dream while a mother has no chance to say goodbye?" Though she may turn off some for wearing her politics on her sleeve, there's no denying her artistry on this song.
Another notable track is hidden track title "I Have Seen The Rain", a duet by Pink and her father, James T. Moore. The two of them harmonize the song in one take. This song written by James about Vietnam veteran.
Overall, this album is not a downer and each track is distinctive from each other. "I'm Not Dead" is co-written and executive produced by Pink. She's maturing and as both artist and individual without forgetting her pop root.
Worth Listen To:
1. Who Knew
2. Nobody Knows
3. Dear Mr President
4. U & Ur Hand
5. Conversation with My 13 Year Old Self
6. I Have Seen The Rain
Track To Watch Out For:
1. Cuz I Can
2. Fingers (I hope someone will remix this track, awesome to be play in the club)
3. The One That Got Away
You will like this album if on your shelf you got:
1. Kelly Clarkson
Feel Good Rating: 4 out of 5

puracane

As you can see, since I've created my own radio station. Since then, I've been listening a lot to non-familiar artiste. One of them that I've found is puracane. So i begun on my quest to dig on who is puracane is.
Puracane began as a duo in 1999. British-born vocalist Ali Rogers and producer David Biegel co-wrote the album 'Things you should leave alone', released by Ubiquity records in 2000. Ali Rogers decided to take the project from the studio to a live act and in 2000 Puracane played shows with Sting and Duran Duran and in 2001 with Jane's Addiction and Depeche Mode. Puracane's music is featured in the film Driven and on Smallville, Felicity, Road Rules and Real World. Today Puracane are Ali Rogers on vocals, Juan Masotta on guitar and electronics, Drew Thurlow on bass, Andrew Griffiths on drums and Brett O'Mara on violin. The band just released a new album: 'In Limbo', a collection of songs composed and produced by several satellite members during Puracane's hiatus. "In Limbo" is now available at www.puracane.com , and soon it will be coming to the itunes store, CDbaby and other major music retailers. (Taken from www.myspace.com/puracane)
Big fans of Tri Hop genre raving about this group. Uniquness of Ali Rogers' voice are commendable and deserved two thumbs up. However, at the moment their album are downloadable via iTunes/podcast.
